She is beautiful. I think she embodies the word. It's a shame that many only look for large breasts and good tan in a woman. And it's a shame also because this film is about identity. Well I feel very much like we've lost it in this world if we can't even see the beauty in others because we are so blinded by ideals.

The whole book is a metaphore for Virginia Woolf's lesbian relationship with Vita Sackville-West(that name's abit of a mouthful), it's full of references to aspects to their relationship and their interests. That's one of the reasons it's been dubbed 'the longest love letter' in the English language.
It's essentially an account of a period in her life that eschews any fallible context, because Woolf was trying to record her raw emotions rather than write a cohesive narrative.

i laughed SO HARD the first time i saw this movie... when the golden angel starts singing at the end, i lost it. this was pretentious, wannabe art-house shit, but that final scene about made up for the rest of the film
